Exciting New Appliances

Moving to our new premises has come with many perks, the biggest perk being the increase in space. Now that we have more room to play around with we can start utilising our space to make our production process more efficient in time, energy and cost.

We pride ourselves on the fact that when we label our products ‘hand made’ they actually are. A lot of our production process is done entirely by hand or manually. However, we do have the odd piece of machinery to help us out, for example, our Hobart mixers, Pastry Roller and Patsy Pie Press help to keep our production process ticking along. Nevertheless, since moving to larger premises we have invested in some more pieces of machinery that will help us with the latter parts of our production process.

Enterpack Lidding Machines

We’ve had one of our lidding machines for a couple of years now, we use them to seal our twin pot puddings and more recently our Bramley apple/apple and blackcurrant heat and serve puddings. We recently invested in another machine to speed up our packing process and make the process a little more satisfying for our hardworking packing staff.

The Depositor

For years we have used a spoon and scales to weigh out and distribute the batter for our twin pot puddings. As you can imagine, this isn’t the most efficient way of producing large quantities of delicious, individual puddings. Even though we’ve managed with the simplest of tools for so many years, we thought it was time that the bakery had a helpful upgrade. That is why we’ve invested in our depositor. The depositor will work with compressed air to distribute the pudding batter into their bowls to create the same delicious puddings our customers know and love but in a much quicker fashion and with more precision.

Alongside this impressive piece of equipment is the compressor (the large red tank pictured below). The compressor accompanies the depositor to provide the compressed air that helps it to run. The compressor will soon move and reside in a room, specially designed with it in mind, and the air will be linked through pipes across the new premises to help the depositor to work.
